The worship center of First Baptist Church is located next to the Florence-Lauderdale Public Library on the corner of Wood Avenue and Tombigbee Street in the heart of the Florence Historical District.

First Baptist Church offices are located one-block east of the worship center at 209 North Walnut Street.

Fall Encounter Classes
The 2008 Fall Encounter session will meet at 6:00 pm each Sunday from October 5 through November 16.  Choose the topic of most interest to you and join in these study sessions.

These classes will be offered in place of our typical evening services.
 

 Route 66

The current study at our Wednesday evening services will take us on a journey touching on all 66 books of the Bible. 

Come early for our fellowship supper at 5:30 (reservations required) and join the Bible study at 6:00.

The purpose of First Baptist Church is to advance the kingdom of God around the world.   Our Mission Statement is to "reach people wherever they are in their relationship to Jesus Christ and assist them in a spiritual journey to becoming a mature believer, one who is being conformed to the image of Jesus Christ." (Romans 8:28-29)

First Baptist Church is affiliated with the Colbert-Lauderdale Baptist Association, the Alabama Baptist Convention, and the Southern Baptist Convention. The official news agency of the Southern Baptist Convention is the Baptist Press, at which you'll be able to check out the latest

First Baptist Church is an old church with a new mission.  FBC was established in 1888, yet the people are committed to being current in their mission and ministries, realizing that people matter to God!  During the decade of the 1990's, FBC dedicated its efforts to "Building Bridges to the Future".  The theme has evolved to reflect the challenge of sharing the timeless truths of the gospel to the changing times of this new millennium.  The future is here!
